ABOUT US

Trophy Lures was originally started in 2000 by Floyd Pratt a local game fishing enthusiast in a back shed in Te Kaha. The company was then sold in 2005 to great friends the Aubertin's and grown further into an international handcrafted lure business.

In 2022 the business was brought back by Floyd and Kathryn. With a passion to produce the very best New Zealand made game lures has been the driving focus for the company, which is evident in the extensive range and variety the brand now offers. Located in Waihau Bay, Trophy Lures is a family affair operated by Floyd his wife Kathryn and son Cristian. The lures are all handmade, from the wide stock range through to custom lures available on request. All lures are on display in our Waihau Bay studio, along with Floyd's vast knowledge of game fishing and local marlin patterns. Visitors are most welcome.

Trophy Lures spent a great deal of time researching and developing its famous 'Trophy Bubble Skirt'. The action of the skirt produces a bubble trail and retains it for some length of time. The Marlin are drawn to the unusual trail produced by the bubbles, an irresistible enticement. The T5 Samoan Success with Trophy Bubble Skirt is responsible for landing the largest Marlin ever caught in NZ waters. A whopping 492.4kg Blue Marlin, landed by Lynda Randrup on the vessel B'caus in March 2020.

We also boast a vast range of conventional vinyl skirt patterns and styles that are paired with our proven and perfected heads. These all have hundreds of incredible catches to their names.

World class Lures designed to catch fish not fisherman. You will never be disappointed. Tight lines! Floppy
